• Planter Warts Treatment - Not Months or Years – But DAYS !

The planter warts that I had, actually spread, and clustered together to form an ugly, embarrassing mass, sometimes over an inch or more across – mine were pretty hideous – yuk! I sure don’t wish this on anyone!

• Planter Warts – How did THAT Happen? Causes of Planter warts.

It is estimated that 7% – 10% of adults in the US are infected by warts. In fact, warts are the most common skin infection, and are caused by the Human Pavilloma Virus (HPV), and not by touching frogs ! (But you knew that, right?) Plantar warts are like most other warts. The difference being that the virus entered your body through tiny breaks in the outer skin, or epidermis, on the bottom of your foot (the plantar area). Because of the added pressure of walking on them, they sometimes grow inward. You may have been exposed by walking barefooted around a pool, or in a public shower. Or you could have picked the virus up by going barefoot outside or on a city sidewalk, or from skin trauma to the bottom of your foot. Or perhaps your immune system has been compromised or weakened due to an illness.

Since the HPV virus can incubate for between 1 – 20 months before a wart appears, it’s often impossible to determine just when and where we were infected.

People of all ages are affected, but plantar warts are especially common in children 12 – 16 years old.
